Dr Andrew J. Newell is J. R. F. in Literature and Theology at Wycliffe Hall and the English Faculty at the University of Oxford.

He is proud to serve as editor at The Buechner Review. Regarding its namesake, he writes:

With profound, penetrating, and novel insight, Frederick Buechner inquired deeply into the mystery of God’s interactions with humanity. Moreover, in a triumphant marriage of style and substance, his prose manages to be at once dynamic and lapidary. For these reasons, and so many more, Buechner’s work demands the continued attention of readers of all ages and backgrounds.
